Which documents are required for a Bulgaria work permit?

Selection and Initial Documentation
  • After the Video Selection and final selection, a copy of the candidate's valid passport is required immediately.
  • The passport must be valid for at least 3 years to support the primary employment contract between the employer and the employee.
Physical Document Submission (20-Day Rule)
  • The courier must send all original physical documents to Bulgaria within 20 days of the candidate's selection.
  • Failure to meet this 20-day deadline may result in replacing the candidate to comply with state authority timelines.
Criminal Record Certificate (PCC)
  • Must be issued specifically for “work abroad” or Bulgaria.
  • Must be signed and stamped by the relevant authority and include an Apostille.
  • A photo/scan must be shared in advance for verification before sending the original by courier.
  • Upon arrival in Bulgaria, the PCC must remain valid for at least 5 weeks to allow translation and legalisation.
Educational Diploma
  • Required for specific job roles and mandatory for all drivers.
  • Must be notarised and apostilled before dispatch to Bulgaria.
Work Permit and Legalisation
  • The PCC and diploma are translated and legalised in Bulgaria by authorised translators.
  • Work permit processing time: approximately 1 to 3 months, depending on the Bulgarian state authorities.
